Plant Parenthood CLE is the vision of Shelby Saylor, a plant nerd, community builder, and full-time corporate hustler with a part-time jungle and a full-time dream. After years of working in wellness and fitness tech, Shelby realized that success without connection felt empty. What began as a personal plant collection turned into a source of healing, grounding, and joy. A quiet rebellion against burnout and a return to purpose.

With three years of hands-on experience at a Cleveland plant shop and over a decade in operations, leadership, and customer service, Shelby brings deep expertise and an even deeper commitment to creating spaces that feel both welcoming and intentional. Her background includes managing multi-site wellness centers at the YMCA, directing strategic partnerships in B2B fitness, and leading education-driven service models across the nonprofit and tech worlds.

Plant Parenthood CLE is the culmination of those experiences, rooted in a desire to offer more than just pretty plants. Shelby believes plants reflect back what we give them. They reward care. They teach patience. They invite us to slow down and grow with intention.

She lives in Cleveland with her husband, their daughter (a co-founder in training), and two beloved dogs, Rooster and Walker. Her dream is to build a plant shop that feels like a sanctuary and grows into a brand that brings joy, education, and a sense of community to plant lovers everywhere. Today it’s rooted in Cleveland, but tomorrow? Who knows. With the right support, Plant Parenthood CLE could grow into something much bigger. Something that changes the way people connect with plants and with each other.
